** One month until we meet in Toronto! Please register with Meaghan and make your bookings as soon as possible! **
I am very pleased to invite you to the 2015 CATG/OATG conference in Toronto. Our theme this year is "Deutsch macht Spaß!", which includes a number of very interesting workshops. Here is a preliminary program for the conference so you get an idea of what to expect. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Registration for the conference is now open. Please complete the registration form, and email it to Meaghan Hepburn at Meaghan.Hepburn@unb.ca. Please also let Meaghan know if you intend to attend the Banquet planned for the Saturday evening. The cost will be $40 per person, excluding beverages.
We have negotiated a special rate at the Holiday Inn Toronto Bloor-Yorkville, just across from the conference location. This rate expires on February 5th, so please book before that date, and make sure you quote the code "CGT" to get the preferred rate. This rate does not include breakfast. If you would like to share a room and need help finding a room-mate, please contact Meaghan Hepburn. The booking form can be found here.
Please review the following financial information:
All official delegates (two per association) pay a Conference fee of $150.
Other conference participants pay a conference fee of $75. Those attending a single day (or less) pay a reduced fee of $50.
Graduate students and presenters who are not official delegates may attend the conference at no charge.
Upon submission of a travel expense claim form with supporting receipts, official delegates and members of the CATG executive are entitled to reimbursement of train fare/airfare and airport transfers, and hotel accommodation (based upon double occupancy). Single occupancy will be reimbursed at a minimum of 50%. This year, due to the need for cost-cutting measures, a travel levy will be deducted from this reimbursement. Please attempt to choose the lowest possible air or train fare. We can also offer help arranging billeting with local conference attendees, should you so wish. Please contact Meaghan Hepburn if you are interested in exploring this option.
Conference presenters who are not official delegates are eligible for a travel expense subsidy to cover a portion of their travel costs, upon submission of a travel expense claim form with supporting receipts.
Each member association pays an annual membership fee to the CATG. The fee is set at $1 per individual member, with a minimum fee of $50. Membership fees are due at the annual conference, payable by cheque (payee 'CATG').
I am very much looking forward to welcoming you in Toronto!
